Björnlympics 3
£900 Raised
Fuelled by teamwork and cake, twenty-four Björnlympics competitors came together to raise £900 for Cancer Research UK in memory of Danny Baker and Annette Turner - all through a mix of fitness, fun, and friendly competition.
Lead by team captains Eliot Dunn, Sam Baker-Smith, Hannah White, and Rob Conway, each team put on a valiant display across five gruelling rounds. From Bench Press to Burpees, each contestant pushed their limits for a fantastic cause.
Eliot couldn't complete the Björnlympics hat-trick on this occasion as Team 1 placed fourth with 1,678 points. Captained by two-time Milestones winner Rob Conway, Team 4 placed third as they racked up 2,050 points, only 41 points off top-spot.
Team 2's Ryan Baker and Elle Turner curled their way to vital bonus points as they out-repped the returning Brad Cole and Recömp 3 winner Hannah White on the day's finisher, meaning they pipped Team 3 by 23 points to finish first with 2,091.
A bright and breezy March morning shone even brighter as Danny Baker and Annette Turner looked down on the biggest and best Björnlympics event to date, and the stage is set for an even bigger showdown this summer. Rest up for round four!
Björnlympics 2
£160 Raised
Camaraderie is the foundation of the Björnstrxng community, and despite the demanding nature of Björnlympics 2, each team's competitiveness was surpassed by friendship as our heroic Members collectively raised £160 for charity.
Captained by Björnstrxng legend Stu Dunn, Team Odin scored 627 points to place second in the summer 2024 Björnlympics. Well done to Stu, Holly Milner, Georgia Westwood, Jack Cowgill, and Tabby Downes for their efforts throughout the day.
Placing third was Paula Olsson's Team Thor. Rob Conway, Lauren Cole, Dave Mellor, Vinita Parmar, and Paula earned an impressive 572 points, setting personal records and breaking through physical and mental barriers; fantastic team showing.
Team Tyr's incredible 744 points saw the day's £160 pot get split between captain Scott Olsson, Tom Cowgill, Kate Pearce, David Jordan, and Eliot Dunn's individual charity choices of Mind, Target Ovarian Cancer, Hope Hospice, and Age UK.
Jack Meakin, Tom Price, and Sam Baker-Smith seamlessly judged another successful competition, and with Björnlympics 3 set for next year, Coach Joe and the collective Björnstrxng community hope to raise more money than ever to Cancer Research UK.
Björnlympics 1

With a charity pot of £130 on the line for Alzheimer's Society, St Giles, Headway, myaware, Crisis, Mind, Action for Children, Macmillan and Dogs Trust, the first Björnlympics competition united and inspired our Björnstrxng Members.

In an event that combined fitness and fun, Björnlympics 1 was a success, far exceeding expectations. Björnlympics 2 will look to raise more money for charity, all whilst unifying the incredible Björnstrxng community that has been created.
This has been my favourite two hours of 2024 so far. To be surrounded by so much support, encouragement, fun, positivity, and respect from everyone was absolutely awesome. An incredibly well organised event from Joe and the support from Jack and Toby was fabulous. Thank you all for giving your time. Every single person gave their best, pushed themselves to their max, and every time I looked around all I could see were smiles. Roll onto the next games.
What a terrific event, uniting competitors of all ages and abilities. Working in teams was a great way to meet the other 'Björners' and really brought out the best in everyone, with fabulous performances and some huge personal bests. The events were well thought-out and inclusive so teams could play to their strengths. Most importantly, it was fun and we raised lots of money for charities. We lifted, pushed, laughed, and cheered through the morning.
